We are excited to announce:

Sara Muender has joined the Lawyerist team as a business coach for lawyers!

Sara joined us at the beginning of December. In two short weeks, she has already added immense value to our Lawyerist Lab program. In case you’re not familiar, one of the ways we help lawyers build healthier businesses is through our business coaching program, Lawyerist Lab. Sara will work with Lab community members (we affectionately call them “Labsters”—get it?) directly through 1:1 coaching calls, group coaching calls, workshops, our quarterly and annual retreats, and more.

About Sara

Sara is a powerful addition to our team. Not only is she an experienced coach, but she also built and sold a legal tech company. Even more, she also hosts her own podcast, is a certified life coach, and has productized her own services on her website.

The Coach

Through her mom-focused coaching business, Sara has helped countless women reach and surpass their personal goals. She says, “I believe that people are stronger than they realize and more capable than they give themselves credit for.” Which certainly tracks with the Lawyerist value, “Grow as People.”

She says of her one-on-one coaching style, “My job as a coach is to hold space for my coachee to examine their patterns of thought and action through critical analysis and curious inquiry.” She adds, “Together we clarify what needs to change, design a plan of action (with fail-safes), and we work that plan while overcoming the roadblocks that would have otherwise halted their progress.”

Sara Muender

As you can see, Sara is more than a business coach for lawyers. Her experience as a life coach guides her interactions.

The Entrepreneur

Sara brings loads of relevant business experience to our community. Previously, she and her husband built, ran, and eventually sold Ticket Kick, an innovative legal services delivery company out of California. At the time of the sale, Ticket Kick was the leading platform for helping California residents fight traffic tickets through written declaration.

She also sells motivation and organization tools on her website, hosts an informational podcast, offers group and one-on-one coaching, and has productized many of her services.

This experience couldn’t come to our community at a better time, as many of us are looking to productize our services. Lawyerist CEO and Lab Coach, Stephanie Everett, remarked, “Sara’s background and experience was exactly what we’re looking for. She has not only owned a business so she understands what business owners experience, but she owned a legal-tech business—so she understands the type of emerging companies many of our lawyers are now competing within the market.”

The Person

Sara lives with her husband and three young children in Atlanta, GA. But she’s still a Californian at heart. They made the move to the Southeast recently. Like, during the beginning of the Pandemic, recently—while Sara was eight months pregnant. She drove.

Fun Fact: Sara has the neurological phenomenon, synesthesia. How cool is that? To her, Wednesdays are orange, female, and kinda sassy. Wednesday would definitely fit in at Lawyerist. And so does Sara.

Business Coaching

As a business coach for lawyers, Sara helps guide firms in building and running healthy practices. She joins an already stacked group of business coaches and subject-matter experts. And we are overjoyed to add her to our team.

As our Community Director, Jennifer Whigham says,  “Sara will be a fresh, exciting voice on our coaching team. She’s a seasoned business owner (she’s run and sold a business!), and an expert coach, who has a great business/strategy brain + a kind, empathetic vibe—she’ll be great for both strategy and mindset ?.”

Jennifer Whigham, Community Director

You’ll see Sara running workshops, facilitating mastermind groups, and making sure that our Labsters are growing healthy firms. But we’re most excited about her accountability calls with our community. Here, like many other coaches, she’ll have monthly one-on-one meetings with Lab participants about the work they’re doing to build a healthy firm. She’ll answer questions, talk through strategy, and check in on the progress the coachee is making on their goals. She says, “I hold the flashlight, asking the questions that shine a light on the conscious or subconscious beliefs, biases, and assumptions that hold them back and keep them stagnant.”

She’ll also be a frequent contributor to all the cool things we do here at Lawyerist. Ready to learn a little more? Check her out on Episode #359 of the Lawyerist Podcast airing December 16, 2021.

As you can see, we’re excited to introduce her to you. And we’re excited to have her on our team. When you see her around the Lawyerist ecosystem, please help us welcome her. And although we’re sure you’ll run into her, if you want to connect, you can always connect directly at sara@lawyerist.com, find her on LinkedIn, or check her out on Twitter at @saramuender.
