Legal professionals can also use it to search public and private records databases, including utilities records, inmate searches, and vehicle registrations.

Who Tracers is For
Attorneys who frequently skiptrace, or commonly have a need to locate individuals, will likely find this application helpful. As will those who need to do opposition research on social media accounts, like family law attorneys, or insurance defense. Additionally, probate attorneys or those who are often looking to find relatives and acquaintances of clients, will likely find Tracers helpful.
However, this is not a caselaw database like Casetext, Fastcase, or Casemaker. Nor does it have any secondary research sources like Westlaw, or LexisNexis. Further, attorneys who don’t frequently need to perform these searches may find it easier to search public records themselves. But, then again, having access to both public and private records in one solution can help save time and provide a more complete search than going it alone.

Additional Details about Tracers
Search Specialists
Tracers has been around for over 20 years, and many of their employees have a great deal of experience in this industry. When you sign-up you are assigned a dedicated account manager who can serve as a search specialist in those hard-to-query matters we find ourselves in sometimes.
API & Batch Processing
Tracers understands that, many times, a law offices handle high-volume searches. To help with this, they provide an API that allows you to connect using other software of your choice. Additionally, they allow for batch processing of searches, so you could easily do something like skiptrace all the returned notice letters in your class-action lawsuit.
Pricing
Searches can be priced in two separate ways, and you will always know the price prior to querying their system. For light users, there is per-search pricing which is based on the number and type of transactions you run. For heavier users, there is a monthly-fee tier that allows for unlimited searching for the same price each month. Although their pricing isn’t made public, I will say, it was surprisingly reasonable when pressed.
