What is Clio Grow?

Clio Grow is a law firm Customer Relationship Management system (CRM). It was previously called Lexicata. Now, it’s part of Clio’s ever expanding legal software suite. And, as part of the suite, it can easily be used in tandem with Clio Manage. After a period of relative calm, at ClioCon 2023, Clio announced several long-desired improvements and laid out an exciting future roadmap.

Clio Grow is a cloud-based Client Relationship Manager (CRM), so it can be used from any modern browser.

What is the price of Clio Grow?

Clio Grow is not available to subscribers to Clio’s least expensive EasyStart plan. Subscribers to Clio’s Essentials or Advanced plan can add on Clio Grow for $59/user/month. For those paying for Clio Complete, you already have access to Grow.

Does Clio Grow integrate with my Law Practice Management Software?

Clio Grow, as you can imagine, integrates with Clio Manage. It's part of the Clio Suite of products. As one can imagine, it doesn’t integrate with other LPMS software.

Does Clio Grow have client forms for my website?

Yes. Lawyers can easily use Grow to add client-facing forms to their websites.

Does Clio Grow have project or task management?

Yes. Clio Grow has project management features built in. This includes KanBan boards and automated task scheduling. However, some users find it isn't as comprehensive as some of the more advanced CRMs.

Can Clio Grow track my marketing efforts?

Unlikely. Clio Grow is mainly a Client Intake tracking CRM. It doesn't have the ability to track multi-channel marketing efforts. You can setup a website and manage Google Local Services Ads in Grow. For other marketing efforts, you're limited to noting their source from a dropdown list of options you create.

Can I accept online payments with Clio Grow?

Yes. Through Clio Payments, and Clio's other integrations, lawyers can easily accept ePayments for their firms.

Does Clio Grow integrate with Calendly?

Yes. Grow can integrate with Calendly via Zapier, if you use Zapier's webhooks functionality.

Is Clio Grow good for solos?

Yes. Solos who do not have complex marketing campaigns set-up could easily find Grow extremely helpful.

Can I send engagement letters through Clio Grow?

Yes. Grow has a document creation platform built-in, powered by HelloSign. Firms can not only send engagement letters through Grow, but also get them accepted and signed.

Clio Suite

Grow and Manage are the two pillars of the Clio Suite. Grow is offered as an add-on for Clio’s Essentials and Advanced plans. Grow is included with Clio Complete at no additional cost. Clio offers a 7-day free trial of Clio Manage as part of a try-before-you-buy offer.

Recent Enhancements and Additions to Clio Grow

Automated Workflows

Clio Grow expanded its automation capabilities by allowing users to automatically trigger steps in their intake processes in a predetermined sequence. This enhancement streamlines client onboarding, reducing manual effort and expediting the intake process.

Google’s Local Services Ads Integration

Clio Grow integrated with Google’s Local Services Ads, enabling law firms to sign up for and manage their advertising accounts directly within the platform. This integration facilitates the creation and management of ad campaigns, helping firms attract qualified leads more efficiently.

Automated Text Messaging

Building upon its existing text messaging capabilities, Clio Grow introduced automated text messages. Users can now schedule and sequence text communications, such as appointment reminders, to enhance client engagement and reduce no-shows. However, this functionality does not permit text messaging conversations with prospects. Once prospects become clients, Clio Manage supports two-way text messaging.

Contact Syncing Between Clio Grow and Clio Manage

To improve data consistency, Clio implemented automatic synchronization of contact information between Clio Grow and Clio Manage. This feature ensures that contact details like names, email addresses, phone numbers, and addresses remain consistent across both platforms.

The Law Community

Clio’s Law Community serves as a place for users to meet, share ideas, and learn best practices. There are affinity groups for solo attorneys, support staff, experienced Clio users, and for firms of varying sizes. It’s also a great place to learn about the latest product updates, get access to discounts on helpful products and services, and educate yourself on upcoming and past, but recorded, webinars.

Who Clio Grow is for

For current Clio Manage users, especially those working in small to medium-sized practices, the Grow add-on is worth a review. It has many substantial features and integrations geared towards solo and small firm lawyers, features which naturally pair well with its brother-product, Clio Manage.

Much like Clio Manage, Grow’s broad appeal also means that it may not be suited for particular practices. For example, while Clio Manage recently introduced a personal injury add-on module, large-scale Personal Injury attorneys, or others who have specialized intake, may find Grow’s features and integrations to be lacking.
