Knackly is a legal document automation platform with client-facing guided interview capabilities. It’s powerful. At least, it can be. But its not a “no-code” solution. It will definitely take some time to get set up (they help you with this through an initial “Jumpstart” program). But you can create beautiful automated documents.
At its core, Knackly is a way to create interfaces for users to automate MS Word, .docx, PDF, Text, and XML files. It essentially has all the conditional logic capabilities that MS Word has (which is a lot). And, although it does not natively integrate with any Law Practice Management Software (LPMS), it’s Open API will allow the capable attorney to integrate it into most any system.

Who Knackly is For
This software is not for those who are dabbling in document automation. But those attorneys who are creating a lot of complex documents will find all the capabilities they need here. Estate planners who want to automate their own documents, landlord-tenant attorneys who want their clients to build their own leases, and any other document-heavy practice will likely find Knackly useful.

Additional Details about Knackly
Integrations
Knackly’s main integration is with Microsoft Word. It doesn’t have any native syncs with any LPMSs, and it doesn’t have a connection to any specific relational database. What it does have, is an Open API. This allows it to connect with any other piece of software that also has an Open API. So, if you want to connect to Clio, you can. PracticePanther? Yep. RocketMatter? Certainly. But you’re gonna have to have the resources to do it yourself.
Jumpstart
Knackly is not a plug-and-play solution, or a one-size-fits-all platform where you can gradually ease into using it. There is a decent bit of infrastructure needed to make it run appropriately. And they know it. When you sign-up with Knackly, in addition to your monthly (or yearly) plan, you also pay for what they call Jumpstart. This is a 1 to 6 month program designed to get you started off on the right foot. You choose which level you want, based on how tech savvy you are, and how much help you expect to need.
