Additional Details about Ooma Office

30 days risk free, and no contracts. While Ooma Office does not offer a free trial, if you decide it’s not for you in the first 30 days, you can get a refund, no questions asked. And Ooma does not require a long-term contract, so you aren’t locked in.

Mobile calling. In order to make phone calls with Ooma from your mobile phone (so that your business phone number shows up in caller ID), you will need to use the Ooma app.

Not exactly a virtual receptionist. Ooma calls one of its features Virtual Receptionist, but it’s not the same as the other virtual receptionists we’ve reviewed. There is no person who picks up the phone for incoming calls. Instead, Ooma’s Virtual Receptionist feature allows you to “automate how you manage incoming calls” by creating phone trees and routing calls. Which might be something you want even though we usually use virtual receptionist to mean something else.

Who Ooma is for. As a VOIP provider, Ooma is suitable for cost-conscious firms seeking truly portable communications. The company’s offerings are competitive with larger rivals but at a lower cost. While not legal-specific, the company has experience serving law firm customers. Some internet communication platforms take a “kitchen sink” approach, offering phone, fax, texting, and web meetings. Oooma does not do that. It provides features one traditionally associates with a telephone: phone calls, voicemail, and fax. Each user costs only $20/mo. Moving up to $25/mo adds text messaging and Google/Microsoft 365 integrations.
