Albatross Cloud Legal Workspaces is a cloud-based, remote, Managed IT program for lawyers. They build, host, and manage law office networks on their own remote servers. With this, law office workers can use a laptop, desktop, tablet, mobile device, zero client, or thin client to securely connect to the office network from anywhere with an internet connection.

Since the network that they hosts is a remote one, they can also provide standard IT services such as printer and peripheral set up, help desk solutions and vendor support, and network security services.

Who Albatross Cloud is For

Albatross Cloud would be good for any office that is planning on existing in a completely remote environment. However, a virtual office setup is not required. Because of the added security of the remote desktops, and the general IT management ALW does, it would still be a good solution for firms who have no intention of abandoning their office spaces.

Most solo practitioners and very small offices will find that the virtual network is not necessary for them. Therefore, this may be more services than they need.

Albatross Cloud FAQs

What is the price of Albatross Cloud?

Although many workspaces, like AWS, charge by the amount of time you use the machines, Albatross simply charges a monthly fee. The initial price of $250/month is for a base usage of two users. They then charge for each additional user, and for help desk services.

What services does Albatross Cloud provide?

Albatross Cloud Suites can include hardware, infrastructure (i.e. network equipment), platforms, applications (like Adobe, Microsoft 365 and Quickbooks), Security, Monitoring, Help Desk, Training, and even Development services.

Can Albatross Cloud help my law office with Microsoft 365 (f/k/a Office 365)?

Yes, Albatross is very familiar with Microsoft 365, including their Azure (directory) services, SharePoint set-up and maintenance, and a whole host of other Microsoft services.

Is Albatross Cloud familiar with the legal industry?

Although Albatross Cloud does not limit itself to the legal industry, it does focus on it with its Legal Workspaces suite product.

How long will it take to set-up my Cloud network?

Each network is different and has different needs. So, it is impossible to standardize a time period for network set-up. Albatross Cloud, however, should be able to provide you with an estimate when you request a quote.

Is my client data secure with Albatross Cloud?

Although no platform or service is one-hundred percent secure, Albatross provides industry standard, or above, security that is monitored and regularly maintained. All information is encrypted while in-transit and at-rest, and regular back-ups are maintained in secure locations on well hardened servers. Specific information can be found on Albatross’ website.

Does Albatross Cloud offer tech support?

Yes, they offer various tiers of technical support as an add-in to their cloud suite services.

Can Albatross Cloud help my law firm with other vendors?

Yes. As should be done by all Managed IT providers, Albatross will assist your law firm in dealing with other vendors that they or their products interact with.

What platform does Albatross Cloud work with?

Although they can likely handle Apple products, Albatross Cloud Suites are built on Microsoft and Linux systems.

Is Albatross Cloud only for remote law offices?

No. Although your office’s managed network will exist in the cloud, your team does not need to be remote. Computers, printers, servers, and fax machines can all still exist in the office, or multiple offices. Or, as you can imagine, distributed throughout as many locations as your firm requires.

Remote Desktop Environment tour.

Remote Desktop Protocol

Albatross Legal Workspaces is built to use Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Protocol. This means that the connection is snappier and more comprehensive than browser-based remote desktop services like LogMeIn, Splashtop, or RemotePC. Additionally, loading a RDP connection on an existing Windows based computer is just a matter of downloading the RDP file, running it, and then logging in. After this, you’ll feel like you’re sitting in front of the remote computer—no bezel, no browser frame, just the remote computer’s desktop.

TekReach Help Desk

A good IT partner will have an ongoing relationship with your firm. You shouldn’t expect to build your infrastructure, and then never see your provider again. To that end, TekReach Solutions offers Help Desk services for their Albatross Legal Workspaces users for an additional monthly fee.

Vendor Support

Beyond simple Help Desk services, TekReach Solutions can also help their clients with their other 3rd party vendors. They can help you with your Internet Provider, your VoIP software, and even Microsoft.
