Legal Files is a good fit for firms looking for a streamlined process when it comes to document assembly and management. It’s also great for tracking tasks, timekeeping, and staying on top of important dates. However, it’s probably not a good fit if you need billing, invoicing or any accounting features.

More About Legal Files

Legal Files is a law practice management software program with a heavy emphasis on document management and assembly. You can use Legal Files as a standalone case management software, or you can link it up with your current document management system. Create custom templates to cut down on data entry, or build a new document using a pre-existing template that integrates any new data fields you might need. Their document assembly features are particularly handy for lawyers who work with similar cases over and over again. You can set up trigger notifications for documents as well, making sure you’re in the loop when documents are changed, moved, and more.

View your calendar and access your colleagues’ calendars to collaborate on cases or avoid scheduling conflicts. Like most calendars, you can create to-dos and schedule recurring appointments with clients.

Legal Files’ Manage My Day lets you see your day at-a-glance, including recently opened files, a list of tasks, and be alerted to deadlines and crucial tasks with their Heads Up notification feature. Not only do you have an individual calendar for your schedule, but you can also access a case calendar, docket calendar, and firm-wide calendar for a bird’s eye view of your practice. Legal Files also works as a client relationship manager (CRM). Keep track of prospective clients and store relevant information about all of your contacts. You can update your relationship to a contact and it will be updated in any relevant documents. When it comes to emails, you can integrate with Outlook, Lotus Notes, Groupwise, and Google Mail and organize emails into case files to keep track of all client correspondence.
