Headnote goes beyond simple trust account compliant credit card processing for lawyers. It is a billing and payment collection platform. As such, it includes tools like automated email reminders, recurring payments, and client satisfaction surveys. Which can make it more of a Legal Time & Attorney Billing Software. It’s also refreshingly easy to set up and use.

Additional Details about Headnote
Collection tools
Headnote has a number of tools to help you and your clients manage your payments. It allows you to automatically send reminders and personalized emails to your clients. And, more importantly, you can easily set-up recurring, and installment payment plans. Which you can track in a web-based firm dashboard.
Initial Setup
Creating an account and setting up payment information is simple and straightforward. During setup, the software prompts you for all information required to send and receive payments, including uploading an invoice. At the end is a simple, unique link that can then be sent to the client to request payment.
Security
Headnote is Payment Card Industry (“PCI”) compliant and uses a SHA-256 SSL certificate to protect its users’ data. Headnote tokenizes (which is different from encryption) all payment details, including credit card numbers and bank account information.
Pricing
Headnote makes money on each transaction—just like everyone else. However, the set-up and the ongoing account are free. So, it’s kind of worth having around even if you aren’t using it all the time. Additionally, if you have a high volume of transactions, you may qualify for discounted pricing.
