One of the best ways to keep in touch is a quarterly newsletter (email or otherwise) to former clients. Use the newsletter to keep clients up-to-date on new practice areas, new employees, and your office location.
Be sure to include some information that actually benefits the clients—to ensure they actually read it. If you continually send out good information, clients are much more likely to look at your newsletter instead of casting it aside. Even better, former clients may decide to forward it to someone else, and so-forth.
The best referrals and potential clients come from former clients—make the most of the opportunity!
