Lawyernomics, hosted by Avvo,1 is a business development conference for lawyers. Most of the session topics are related to marketing and branding, but sprinkled among them are sessions on mindfulness, legal research, the future of law practice, and more.
Date & Location
Lawyernomics is hosted by Avvo each spring in Las Vegas. The 2017 conference will be April 20–22 at the Bellagio.
What to Expect at Lawyernomics
The 2016 recap video gives you a pretty good idea what to expect:
You should go in knowing that at Lawyernomics, as at many marketing conferences, many of the presenters are selling something. The session on LinkedIn, for example, is taught by a LinkedIn coach. The SEO session is taught by a lawyer who owns a digital marketing agency. About a third of the sessions are taught by an Avvo representative (it is, after all, Avvo’s conference).
That’s not necessarily a bad thing, and it is pretty typical of a marketing conference. After all, who would know more about LinkedIn than someone who makes their living teaching people to use it? We just think you should understand where the presenters are coming from.
