I am so excited to be a part of the Lawyerist community as a contributor. I can’t wait to get to know the members of this community better!

If you ask people on the Internet who I am, you’ll probably hear a variety of things: owner of a creative, professional outsourcing firm; new media princess; and Bizinatrix to name a few. You also might hear that I’m involved in a mad, passionate love affair with the Internet. Well, all of the aforementioned things are completely and utterly true.

My love affair with all things geek started back when I was about six years old and my dad handed me a Commodore 64. My sister and I first used the computer to play ‘office’ where I was the President and she my employee. Fast forward 21 years and not much has changed!

I started my first company, BSETC, in 2004. The company is a creative, professional outsourcing firm that helps entrepreneurs build, grow and manage their online presence. The company provides full support in many areas including administration, Internet marketing, social media, web design and graphic design. BSETC is currently managed and operated by twenty-six team members and has serviced over 350 entrepreneurs from countless countries around the world. To us, the world really is flat.

In my role as new media princess, I am constantly evolving how I share parts of my life – both the business life and the personal life – via the Internet. I am a lifestreamer, a lifecaster, a blogger, a vlogger and a photojournalist for my life. I will be launching a web series on business and entrepreneurship with a production company in Toronto, Ontario, Canada shortly which will allow me to reach an even broader audience.

I have also been fortunate enough to be featured or quoted in five print books, I’ve received two awards at the 2010 Bootstrap Awards, I’ve been honoured as Office Arrow’s 2008 Runner-Up Business Woman of the Year, interviewed by Chatelaine, Costco Connection, CTV, CBC and ABC, won the Small Business category in the Shorty Awards and was a finalist in the Mashable Open Web Awards. To say it’s been an interesting ride through entrepreneur land is an understatement.

I look forward to sharing my experiences with you but most of all, the lessons that have come from my experiments. As someone who is never afraid to try something (and fail), I have learned a lot about being an entrepreneur, being a human being and being super passionate about all areas of life.

You can find me on Twitter, on my blog, via my company’s website or by watching our video podcast.
