When Microsoft finally released Office for iOS and Android, it came with a bunch of asterisks. One of them was that if you really wanted to get any use out of it, you would have to use OneDrive, Microsoft’s okay-but-not-as-good-as-Dropbox cloud file storage and sync service.

No more. Dropbox and Microsoft just partnered up so that you will be able to access Office documents stored in Dropbox, right from the Office apps.

These new features will be rolling out to all Dropbox users on iOS and Android in the next few weeks.

Next year we’ll be extending these features to the web by adding integrations between the Dropbox website and Office Online.
