The list of lawyer jobs and the diversity in how lawyers work is as broad as the day is long: estate planners and non-profit advisors, divorce lawyers and criminal defenders, medical-malpractice gurus and real estate masters. Each one carves out a little piece of a US legal market estimated at some $437 billion dollars in a 2016 tally, and almost everyone has a slightly (or dramatically) different approach to plying her craft.
We’re fascinated by How Lawyers Work. We’re interested in their tech, their workflows, their offices, their coffee, and their elevator pitches. We’re interested in knowing what they listen to, read, and watch, and we’re interested in their essential habits. In short, we want to know what makes us different from one another and what helps us stand out from an otherwise shapeless mass of juris doctors making their ways in the world.
