Increasing access to justice is a core component of Lawyerist‘s mission.

We seek to find ways to leverage technology, people, and financial resources to improve the ability of people to solve their legal needs with and without lawyers.

In addition to the information and ideas we share with our community of innovative lawyers, we seek out opportunities to use our resources to further access to the legal system and legal solutions.

Access to Justice Legal Hacking Technology Projects

As a technology company, Lawyerist is committed to donating our skills and resources to help build software tools to meet the needs of legal consumers.
In early 2017, we worked with the ABA Law Practice Division Futures Initiative to help the American Immigration Lawyers Association set up ImmigrationJustice.US, a website designed to help AILA gather and support volunteers in opposition to the federal travel ban executive order.

Access to Justice Ad Donations

Lawyerist donates ad space every month to organizations across the country doing great access to justice work.

TBD Law Scholarships

Our twice-yearly TBD Law conference is designed to accelerate small firms and other legal service providers and help them prepare for the future of law practice. Scholarship recipients have included non-profit law firm founders, public interest lawyers, and recent graduates committed to underserved communities.

If you know of access to justice projects or opportunities that you think could be a good fit for our involvement, please reach out to us to let us know. We’re always interested in hearing about new efforts that we can help.
