I am truly honored to been asked to join the Lawyerist community as a regular contributor.
My name is Kendra Brodin, and I am a personal and professional development coach and consultant for lawyers. Most of my posts will be related to business systems, motivation and efficiency, small business development, marketing ideas, and topics related to lawyers launching their own practices. My work is rooted in personal development and professional achievement, especially geared to lawyers and their specific needs.
What does that mean? It means that, through my coaching, writing, speaking, teaching CLE’s and events, I help lawyers and legal professionals achieve their career aspirations without losing their soul, peace of mind, health, and relationships. What good is that paycheck and title if you sacrifice your family, friends and end up with high cholesterol and high blood pressure, having not slept in weeks?
When I work with a client or am writing posts like the ones I’ll be writing for the Lawyerist, my goal is to provide life and business strategies that empower you to broaden your idea of what you can do and how you can do it in a way that feels authentic, right, and in line with your priorities and values.
I love helping lawyers, especially women, create businesses and careers that fulfill them and add to their lives, not suck the life out of them. I teach critical mindset and time-tested tactical and life skills (some of the stuff they don’t teach you in law school!) so you can confidently build a business or practice that brings financial abundance while experiencing meaningful happiness in your personal life.
I work with private clients from around the country, and I’m proud to have served as one of only nine premier coaches for the eWomen Network, the largest network of entrepreneurial women in the world.
I am a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and it’s Women in the Legal Profession and Life and the Law Committees. I am also a member of Minnesota Women Lawyers.
With the toughness of an attorney and heart of a social worker, it’s my joy to motivate, educate, and inspire others to expand their vision of what is possible in their careers and lives. I use a mix of wisdom, wit, strategic thinking and deep insight, and I am always focused on helping others achieve real results.
I’ve earned three degrees with honors, including a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice and a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School. I live in the northern suburbs of St. Paul, Minnesota with my husband and two young children, so I understand what those “mommy lawyers” are going through.
I can’t wait to interact with you and, through my posts, help you build a practice and business that fulfills you financially and professionally while building a personal life you love!
