Yes, says 3 Geeks and a Law Blog. Not so fast, says I. What the Lexis Billable Hours study (PDF) actually says is that law firms that bill by the hour spend less time on administrative tasks. In other words, if your performance is judged by the hours you bill, you will spend more time doing that.

    Also. Some people consider billables to be the bane of their existence? Pretty sure their efficiency isn’t very high.
