International Legal Gymnastics: Could Ecuador Just Mail Assange Home?

Julian Assange, founder of Wikileaks, is currently holed up in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. Ecuador granted him asylum because Sweden, where he is wanted on charges for sexual assault, won’t promise not to extradite him to the US, where the Australian citizen is under indictment, and where many seem unconvinced Assange could get a fair trial.

The interesting question is whether and how Assange could be smuggled out of the Ecuadorian embassy past a wall of London police in a diplomatic pouch or something, and onto a plane for Ecuador. Law prof Jonathan Turley breaks it down.
