My name is Staci Zaretsky, and I am very excited to become a part of this extremely talented group of lawyers and professionals as a staff writer. I hope to provide you with meaningful insight on newsworthy topics relevant to legal practice, as well the current state of the “blawgosphere.”
I am a 2007 graduate of Lehigh University, and a 2010 graduate of Western New England College of School of Law. I am currently studying for the February 2011 administration of the Connecticut and Massachusetts bar examinations. Please cross your fingers for me!
During law school, I had the pleasure of interning for the Community Enterprise Project of the WilmerHale Legal Services Center (now known as the Harvard Law Transactional Clinics), Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, and the Brooks Brothers Law Department. I was also a member of my law school’s Small Business Clinic. I’m a big nerd when it comes to trademark law. If you don’t believe me, you can read my law review note, and see for yourself.
In the future, I hope to assist my clients in all of their creative endeavors, from business organization to protection of intellectual property. I would love merge my two greatest passions—fashion and law—to one day work in fashion law. Yes, that exists, and Fordham Law has an entire program devoted to it. My legal idol is Barbara Kolsun, general counsel for Stuart Weitzman, the luxury shoe company. Please try not to refer to me as Lawyerist’s new Elle Woods, because let’s face it, although she dressed well, she was into animal law.
I look forward to connecting with you! Please feel free to follow me on Twitter.
