Check out the 2010 ABA Blawg 100

This week, the American Bar Association came out with its 2010 Blawg 100, a list assembled from ABA staff picks and outside nominations that purports to collect the “best legal blogs” in one place.

As the founder of one of the blogs selected for the Blawg 100, I’m pretty confident in at least one of the ABA’s selections. I can’t speak for the rest, but hey, it’s a popularity contest that mostly depends on what the ABA staff are reading.

Of course, popularity contests are necessarily flawed, and the ABA Blawg 100 is no exception. For example, this year, Niki Black criticized the Blawg 100 for gender bias, and last year, Scott Greenfield called out one legal technology blog for buying votes. But while the list may be flawed, the Blawg 100 is definitely mostly some of the best legal blogs on the web. Those blogs deserve recognition, whether or not they make it to the top 12.

So check out the 2010 Blawg 100, discover some new daily destinations, and don’t forget to vote for your favorites, if you happen to be registered with ABAJournal.com. (Lawyerist is halfway down the law biz blog page, by the way. Just saying.) Me? I’m voting for the Namby Pamby in the fun category. I like my law blogs with a healthy dose of sarcasm and alcohol abuse, thank you very much.
