Welcome, Minnesota Lawyer readers!

Thanks for visiting from Minnesota Lawyer! I started this blog back in January 2007 as a way to share what I was learning about technology as I built my own law practice. At the time, it was called SoloSmallTech, and aimed primarily at solo and small firm lawyers. I focused on “geek stuff,” the software and gadgets that lawyers use.

After a while, I found myself posting more and more about online marketing, blogging, social networking, billing alternatives, and other issues not relevant only to solo and small firm lawyers, and not all that tech-related, either. In August 2008, I changed the name to Lawyerist, and in September, I welcomed Eric Cooperstein, the “ethics maven,” onboard. Lawyerist is a blog for all lawyers, about lawyering, marketing, and managing a law practice in the 21st century. SoloSmallTech is now a “blog within a blog.”

For a taste of what Lawyerist is all about, here are some of our most popular posts:

Now that Lawyerist is doing well, I am adding speaking and consulting to my list of services. If your firm is considering starting a blog (or, in the case of larger firms, many blogs), looking for help marketing online, or interested in a paperless law office, I can help. Contact me if you are interested in hosting a seminar or consulting.

If you have questions or something to say, please leave a comment below.

While you are here, don’t forget to subscribe to Lawyerist. You can have posts emailed to you, add our RSS feed to your reader, or follow us on Twitter.
