Additional Details about TimeSolv

Planning with TimeSolv

Project & Task Management

In creating its timekeeping and billing platform, TimeSolv has also included simple project and task management features. This is essentially the flip side of the estimating feature below. Here, subscribers can create tasks within their matters, associate users with those tasks, allot amounts of time to do the task and track whether the task has been completed or not. Although this isn’t as thorough as Asana or Monday, some practices may find that this amount of project management is all that they need and they can forgo the LPMS system.

Budgeting and billing

TimeSolv lets you create and track a budget for your firm. You can estimate matter costs to more confidently inform clients what kind of costs to expect. It will also help you determine when a fixed fee is your best choice. It is also trust account compliant, offers flexible billing options, and offers LEDES 1998B, 1998BI, Chubbs, and Litigation Advisor electronic billing formats.

Payment Processing

LawPay & LexCharge Integration

TimeSolve seamlessly integrates with both LawPay and LexCharge. This allows you to quickly and easily start (or continue) to take online payments from your clients. You can take credit card or ACH payments and still comply with the ethical obligations of your Trust account.

Zero A/R

Through its integration with LawPay and Lexcharge, TimeSolv allows you to store client credit card information so you can easily charge your clients for services rendered without them re-entering their information every month.

Quickbooks & Xero Integration

TimeSolv is not a complete accounting system for your firm. It’s missing a few things like accounts payable and check writing. But, at the same time, it’s not trying to compete in that sphere. Instead, they have a two-way synchronization with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Xero. Do your billing and time tracking in TimeSolve. But, take care of your payroll, your malpractice insurance, and other firm obligations with your accounting software.

Reporting

With over 30 reports to help you track firm performance, you can easily keep track of tasks like assessing how your billing is doing versus your projected budget, discovering which member of your firm is most profitable, or simply obtaining task summaries grouped by person or task.

Migration

TimeSolv has been at this for a while. This is why they have a specific conversion tool to help users auto-migrate from several legacy desktop timekeeping and billing programs. These migrations typically handle getting your starting balances into the system and your account structure setup.

For a few specific programs, though, TimeSolve provides a full historical conversion of your data. This means that if you’re using an application like TimeSlips or Tabs3, they can rebuild your historical data (even invoice images) for you, so you won’t miss a beat.

Security

TimeSolv encrypts data transmitted between your browser and its servers using 256-bit (bank-grade) encryption. They also use Amazon Web Services (AWS) to host all of your data, which has classically had both high security and high uptime. They encrypt all passwords, employees do not have access to your platform data, and they perform backups daily in real time.

Who TimeSolv is For

This law practice billing software is an excellent fit for firms that need enhanced timekeeping and billing capabilities. Attorneys who have complex rate or expense tracking, those who want to really hone in on their matter ROI, and those who wish to track associate performance will likely be pleased with the suite of capabilities. If you find yourself spending a lot of time thinking about billing, or you feel like money is left on the table because of a lack of organization, you’ll want to look into TimeSolv.

Additionally, it’s well suited for law offices that aren’t satisfied with the basic timekeeping and attorney billing features of their current law practice management software and who may be looking for more advanced reporting or better QuickBooks integration.

Importantly, if you’re currently using older desktop-based timekeeping software, TimeSolv’s migration tool makes switching relatively painless, with total historical conversions (not just migrations) of TimeSlips & Tabs3.

Because TimeSolv hosts client information on Amazon Web Services in the US, Canadian attorneys may not be able to use this product. Further, not all attorneys need billing software this feature-rich. Resource-strapped attorneys may get more use out of investing in document automation software or more generalized project management applications.
