marketing-consultant-karin-conroyI am excited to join the amazing group of writers at Lawyerist, and hope to present a unique perspective since I am not a lawyer. I recently graduated with my MBA with an emphasis in marketing from the University of California, Irvine .

My background includes a combination of creative and analytical—I also attended UCI for Graphic and Digital Art. After working as a designer for a few years, I was promoted to the Director of Marketing position at Century 21. I was thrown into the management experience with a large corporate acquisition at the height of the real estate boom, then had to manage my team through the downturn.

I currently run Conroy Consults, a marketing consultancy working with law firms, small businesses and nonprofits. My goal is to assist businesses or nonprofits in creatively developing their marketing to most effectively deliver their message. For service-oriented businesses like law firms, I believe your reputation is your product and it is critical to visually represent yourself elegantly to support your professional reputation.

My posts will focus on the combination of marketing and design as it relates to law firms. Additionally, I will feature best practices, unique trends and news from the marketing world that may not be making its way to the legal world.
