Dress for Success: Best of Burgundy

by Lauren Roso on September 21, 2012 in Lifestyle

It is my personal belief that fall is not only the best season due to the crisp air and pumpkin spice latte’s but it also the optimal season for fashion. Cool mornings and temperate days lends itself perfectly to layering. Fall also invites a plethora of colors and textures that just make you feel cozy: tweeds, dark plums, rich reds, leather, chunky knits, soft grays, and warm wool. One of the standout colors for fall is Burgundy and this season’s pieces will make you forget all about the pastels and brights you rocked all summer.

Burgundy is everywhere this fall, in coats, skirts, pants, jackets, and leather. It is a rich hue that works well with everyone’s skin tone. Burgundy is a classic color that can be treated as a neutral, working well with all colors. Some of my favorite colors to pair with this seasons burgundy pieces are navy, dark plum, marigold, and leopard. Check out some of my favorite burgundy pieces below (as well as some ideas on what to pair them with).
